First post. Read posts regularly and thought at least sign-up to give a thumbs up once in a while and hope to get out there again when life gives me break before I break.

Got a GEB5000 somewhere in a box. An exciting purchase by my dad many years ago. Not much usage, a couple of amateurish adventures to Kalgoorlie and around some old sites outside Perth. Memories better than the finds.

First detector was actually one my dad made from an old electronics magazine back in the 70s. Looked better than performed.  Shaft fashioned out of a broomstick with a "folded" aluminum control box (including fly-screen speaker cover) and a wooden cross frame for the coils exposed windings. Painted in bright yellow. Think may have control-box somewhere. If I find I will post a pic.

Appreciate the forum and it's sociable members. Thanks.

This is my first post.Until now I have been unable to post due to lack of knowledge.I have been lurking here as a member for quite a few years.

I am 81 years fo age. Have survived two different forms of cancer.over 9 years of chemo after which had 2 heart attacks

open heart surgery (5 bypasses) I now have diabetes and a Vitamin B12 deficiency called pernicious anemia. With this and a

dislocated right shoulder I have been somewhat slowed down these last few years.

I have beeen detecting for gold since 1979 and currently have a GPX6000. I have 3 nugget finder coils on order. My son has ordered a garret axiom when it become available in Australia.

Some of my gold finds from the last couple of years are below. I have at least 160 small pieces all .01 of under also.

Due to my health issues my recent detecting adventures have been severely limited.

I think my main problem is I'm too stupid to know when I am beaten.

Whilst on this I would like to give thanks to Gerry McMullen for all his help over the last few years.

Regards and thanks to you Steve for allowing me to acces this site and kind regards to all members.
