The Law Of Averages

Must have been a treasure hunter who ever thought of it. Got a nice 14K band at the park Saturday. 12.30 with the CTX 4 inches deep. I love it when the gold finally pops up after all the junk you  dig. I look at every older park and assume that there is gold in it somewhere....Heres to your next gold find

Wow, strick, look at all those pulltabs!  I'm envious.

Honestly, I like ring-and-beavertail style pulltabs because their limited time window of usage (1965-75) is an age marker.  In some ways they're like finding lead when hunting for native gold.  I keep counts of all my pulltabs (including the hated 'square' tabs) from every hunt.  I'm going to write an article about them someday, but I have a lot of those mini-projects on the ToDo list, so don't hold your breath....  Not that anyone is likely to look forward to a writeup on that topic!

Thanks fellas and yes I hope it's an ice breaker for everyone. Good luck out there everyone

Ring is stamped "Always Forever Francis" on the inside of the band.

Several years ago I counted the pull tabs dug compared to the gold rings and the number was around 100 to 1.
