  2. bklein So , what did that big lab puppy get named ? maxxkatt Looks like he thinks you should take the next left. The MilkBone warehouse is there.๐Ÿ˜
  3. What RR said ^ , that ain't easy work at all . But IF you enjoy it...and you're not too old. It is ! ๐Ÿ––
  4. That place is a hardware store ! ๐Ÿ˜ณ Now you always have a good spot to detect. ๐Ÿ––
  5. Welcome aboard Daniel ! Congrats on yer first gold !๐Ÿ‘ You can count this forum as your second nugget. Ask questions as you get them.... Did Gerry show you where he gets all those "jawbreakers" ?๐Ÿ˜‰
  6. Good location , nice finds , clean up with the D2 and do it all again with the Nox1000 and the D3 later ! Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr show no mercy. !
  7. I found a 4 hole brass button several years ago that I didn't think was very old but have since used it to replace a lost button. I think if I found any that old that were still whole I would want to re use them on a shirt or jacket . I realize I could lose one ,,,but then I could look for it again !!!! Wondering if anyone else has done this? Did the thread break up when you checked it out or was it still strong ? I do leather stitching by hand sometimes and thread that lasted that long would be something that I'd be interested in learning about as much as the button itself !
  8. Those look very old ! It must be very hard to find a source for them . Do you have a link ? I couldn't find 'em on Amazon , must be an underground source ..... Are there any special holstering requirements? I'm worried it could be problematic having one ready for an emergency . ๐Ÿค”
  9. Nothing like a tiny beach that keeps producing targets ! ๐Ÿ‘ I'd put it in weekly rotation.
  10. Customizing a tool to work better in your application ๐Ÿ‘ The bottom of my T Rex has smaller holes like that built in ! I've seen some scoops with huge holes too . Variety = everybody happy....well , most everybody anyway...
  11. My friend has one of those for his garden that he brings sometimes and now I use a bigger version. (link below) The notched tip is also sharpened. (The Hori is much lighter on the "Batman Accessory" belt though . But mine is easier to find...) ๐Ÿ™ƒ GREAT for most lawns , but dry hard clay or rocky soil , not so much. I love it for digging under roots too ! Zero (almost) trace dig holes for targets ~6"/15cm or less on manicured lawn permissions. I use it to make a slit in the turf that I spread apart and excavate with a small plastic trowel onto a piece of heavy plastic . The knife can be used to dig as well. Yes there is pinpointing involved๐Ÿฅธ Easy to dump it all back in the hole by folding the plastic in half push the slit back together. Maybe pack it down with my boot . I have trouble finding where I dug most of the time.๐Ÿง Fiskars https://www.homedepot.com/p/Fiskars-14-in-Big-Grip-Garden-Knife-70796935J/202681617

  13. Outback Yank Hmmmmm , sounds like a name someone might adopt after moving there.......... Well , good luck on the hunt no matter how long you stay. Hope ya can post a pic that would make Gerry's jaw hurt just lookin' at it !
  14. C'mon aboard Jeff ! Do you have a primary target or looking for anything the detector finds ?
  15. O. M. G. THAT'S a Cut !๐Ÿ˜ฎ (Kinda looks like the homeowners down the beach are probably getting nervous ....)
  16. Nice little piece of engineering. ๐Ÿ‘ I'll chance a prediction.... ๐Ÿค” That set of diamond earrings it catches will buy you a new Equinox 1000....๐Ÿคฉ
  17. I've used them all except for the lavender . Including the net suits . The permethrin dip is awesome. They all work , sort of. Repel40 is my go to , but I have a bottle of the tick spray too , Like I said I use them all,,, Anything is better than nothing in bug war. I swell up like crazy with insect bites. Ticks , not so much but have a tick spoon for easy removal (of the bigger ones),,,agree the tiny deer ticks are the worst , and they are the ones carrying Lyme.... The DEET will definitely melt plastic , I remember the Estwing hammer handles that got slick when I was doing construction back in the 90s. I also found out the hard way it will dissolve the rubber lining in my Grunden$ rain gear ! I wore it over a shirt and pants that was sprayed with deet a few hours earlier , so not just the liquid...๐Ÿ˜ข You have been warned....arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh ! .. I've also found the lack of ticks at the beaches a nice bonus !
  18. If a picture really is worth a thousand words,,,,that one must be ten thousand words , minimum !๐Ÿ‘
  19. So , you're saying a typical day out prospecting ! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Lucky calf too , you saved it .....๐Ÿค•
