Sometimes You Just Have To Mow (update 3)
locator replied to F350Platinum's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
great hunt and great pictures. thanks for sharing. -
My idea on the SMF is, if you're after a mulit purpose detector this will help to get the job done. A great advantage at salt water beaches and if you can select different frequencies you can set up it for the metal/target you're after. And yes, coil size and type also matters for depth and separation. And with that said you will see, it all depends on the user and his skillls.ππ To me the key is practice, practice ... and reading the forums.πβΊοΈ

Welcome aboard, botics.

In the past there were a few in the 500/600 bucks range on craigs list. (no hardcase included as I've no need for this). But right now they want 1600 plus. Ridiculous. Dealers are selling their brandnew stock ones for 700 - 900. So what do you think I'm going to pay for a used crutch, used is used, as I do not know how the previous owner took care about the machine. Looking the photos of the machines says mostly all, and I do not mean scratches and dents...

Wow. There was always a market for used Deus & ORX detectors for sure, and some prices made me think to want one, but since yesterday, I think when the Deus II news arrived even the last Deus users, there are so many new offerings for money I'D only pay for a brand new one with some goodies included. Think there will be a drastic price drop in the future. Hopefully the Deus II will have no glitches or issues like some other brands/models had in the past. So time will tell....

DD Coil Issues With Shallow Targets
locator replied to mh9162013's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
I think recovery-delay/recovery-speed, sweep-speed and real sweep-speed will take affect, too. To me it helps a lot to lift the loop on shallow targets to get better ID. -
Would have been my guess, too, Strick. Searched for dog tag and wiki came up with some nice thing, but no gold at all. Would not make sense that a finder would store it in his/her pants ππ. (the curse of the gold) Anyway, a nice unique piece of jewelry. Congrats, Compass.π

Making Use Of Monte's Nail Board
locator replied to mh9162013's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
βββ. . . I know the discussion about this aluminum scrap from other forums, but I absolutely don't get it. Rejecting iron and get all the other good stuff is one thing, and rejecting/notching pull-tabs in a pt littered area can be good, too, but there are to many unknown factors in this game as the depth of good targets and the lesser visibility for the detector; so in this case a 2-d nail board test will be useless I think. And depending on the fact that smaller coils will handle the NB test better keep in mind smaller coils have less depth. Montes NB test is a good thing to get trusted to a detector and see what the machine can do in this environment. just my 2 Pfennig -

Great job, Joe. Looks like a lot of digging so you deserved the two collectables, I think.π Thanks for sharing. And by the way.... a man can't own enough nails.π May be you can sell them on a card-board?? (handcrafted nailboardtest $$ π€) -
Air Metal Detectors Now Shipping To Backers
locator replied to β Cipher's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
Wow. 399.- USD for this!? And you have to have a phone which can handle the app. Runtime will be less than two hours on my samsung I think (that sucks the batt pack in no time). Well, I can use a power bank but no, thanks. For that I'd better add 25 bucks getting a new garrett ace apex for sure.ππ
