Scored My First Skeleton Key, My First Pre-1850 Coin, And My First Repaired Item. All In One Convenient Package

Recommended Posts

I was recently invited to detect at a 1903 house in eastern Massachusetts. The detectable area of the yard was the size of a dish towel and yielded only one find. Thankfully, it was a good one! The coin is an 1806/07 George III half penny.

Wow! Why is the area so small?

That is both an odd and rare find. 👍833294552_s-l400(8).jpg.f83257b11a76ea2f96066acdcd55b12c.jpg

Good call! 🙂

This was in an old neighborhood  just outside of Boston, where lot sizes are given in square feet 😄

On top of that, the owner is an avid gardener. Her gorgeous roses take up most of the little yard, the rest was split between a sizable patio and a tiny lawn.

Ah that explains it, been up there a lot years ago. In CT my yard was .10 acre. 🙂 Truly awesome find.

Coin is soldered to the key or was it cast that way?

Last skeleton key I found that had a solid top was a hotel key.

Nice finds.

Great find, I wish you had more of a yard to search as you never know what else would have came up.

Good luck on your next outing.
