[but may not get military discount if I bought in AU--will have to check on that]

Was thinking the same thing, free trip down under always wanted to try detecting there, plus a bit of room and board on top of that... Anyone know if there is like some sort of export tax or other hangup that'd raise the price?

but as I am looking at Canadian duty fees..I am not so excited...but still trying to get a grip on things..

The price quoted in New Zealand by a Minelab Dealer is $11,995.00 NZD. That price includes our sales tax which is 15%.  That converts to $8923.00 USD at current exchange rates.
