  1. I really ain't to worried about them, because I have seen all the Crocodile Dundee movies and now know how to handle them. I found that if they are around just cut the persons leg next to you and throw them into the water. Then you have a few hours of fun detecting by yourself. I don't recommend this technique to be used by everyone.
  2. Nice nickel and I hope that things get back to normal soon. Good luck on your next hunt.
  3. Nice hunt again, and I am sure that you will find the other half of that coin someday. I like the seat that you showed, I might have to get one. Good luck on your next hunt.
  4. Welcome to the forum and don't be shy about posting some stories with pictures. You are from a beautiful country so share some of it's beauty with us. Good luck and good hunting.
  5. Still a good hunt Simon, any day a swinging is a good day. Good luck on your next outing.
  6. Nice finds, good luck on your next hunt.
  7. Looked like a nice swimming hole to me, just look at all those boots and hand bags along the beach.
  8. Grandfather and I have used leaf springs in the past, then welded 1 1/4 inch pipe to it. Then we used a press to flatten the pipe a little bit so we could insert a axe handle into it. They work great and handles are easy to find. The wood that you used is really strong and should last a long time.
  9. Nice find and it will go well with some of your other items from that area that you have found in the past. Good luck on your next hunt.
  10. Great hunting in such a nice place, I love the scenery of where you hunt, reminds me of the places I go to hunt. Good luck on your next hunt and please listen to your NOX crying out to have some fun time with you.
  11. Great finds and since everyone else has said they like the axe heads, let me be the first to say I really like the coins. Good luck on your next hunt.
  12. Looks to be a axle plate for a Civil War cannon, the axle would go through the center hole to connect to the other wheel. There were 2 of these one on each side. I hope this helps as that is all that I can find to match that item.
  13. Great write up with a happy ending, glad to see the save. Good luck on your next outing.
  14. Great finds and the spoon is nice looking for it's age. Good luck on your next hunt.
  15. Looks like a very productive hunt. I have no idea what the square thing is, but will try to find out and get back to you. Good luck on your next outing.
  16. Great hunting with some nice finds for your hard work. Good luck on your next hunt.
  17. Welcome to the forum and please don't be shy about posting some of your finds here. We love hearing and seeing the finds from your area. Beautiful country and nice people last time I was there. Good luck on your next hunt.
  18. Great hunt at a beautiful site, did you put a pin pointer on the end of the nose of the horse. Wish I could have taken time off for something like that. Good luck on your next outing.
  19. Great hunting again, and glad that you found the other spur. Good luck on your next hunt.
  20. Fantastic hunt Simon with a great reward for you. Sorry about the 6000 coil causing you to have to leave a hot area. Sounds like that is an area that the old timers missed some gold, I would be back there more often to go over it with a fine tooth comb. Good luck on your next hunt.
  21. Welcome to the forum LS as we always like to see people share their finds and you have some nice ones in the picture. I only have one real question for you and that is " are you sure that Idaho is a real state, because I had a Idaho potato with my dinner". Just kidding about that and I know that you will find some really good information on the 800 in the Equinox forum. Good luck and good hunting.
  22. On the NOX forum you will find many times where they have failed even in a bath tub, with that said try not to go over 10-12 feet deep and always check for moisture after each outing. Good luck!
  23. Nice save on the finds, but be careful when you go into the water it is just to cold right now and when it hits you it is to late. Good luck on your next outing.
  24. Nice hunting and glad that you were able to get out. When I get a chance to take off work I have several places to hit up myself. So far this year I think I have only been out for about an hour. Good luck on your next outing.
