Thanks for the information as you and many others on here always give us newbies great information and good products. I am still hoping to get out before the freeze here in the Mid-West.

Congrats on the find and your 2,000 likes, only a good detectorist could ever do it. Grandfather had a few of those crosses (similar) when he went to a lot of religious functions in the early 70's. I showed the picture to grandmother and she recognized it as something from that time. They went to see a lot of evangelist's in the late 60's and early 70's. I knew that I had seen it before and I asked her about it. Thanks for sharing it.

Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving wherever you may call home. Stay safe, eat much, and drink heavily.

Sad to hear about this and hope those 2 never get another chance to be around decent people again. There is no need for people like that, and I fear in today's world it is only going to get worse.

Both the 600 and the 800 has a learning curve that takes time to fully understand, but once you learn the unit it will be one of the finest detectors that money can buy. I was given my grandfathers 800 a few months ago and am learning how to use it even today. With that said I can assure you that it is well worth the money he spent on it, and from what i have already found with it it has paid for itself several times. Good luck on your decision!

Rye Patch Was Golden (34 Grams)
Valens Legacy replied to Gerry in Idaho's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
Once again you give us a fantastic hunt with plenty of gold to look at. I hope some day to be able to learn from you. Thanks for the story and picture. Is that ounces or grams? -
Actually it looks more like a grill for a T-Rex, they were always losing them when the asteroid hit that killed them off.

Equinox 800 Not Pairing Ml80 Headphones Strange Solution
Valens Legacy replied to Matelot's topic in Minelab Equinox Forum
The WM08 is wifi so you don't need it on for the ML80 headphones. The wifi will eat up the battery faster than the bluetooth setting. -
I hope that you know I was kidding about not mentioning the gold nuggets, as someday I hope to be as good as some of the people on here.

Great hunt and nice looking dime. Loved the photos of the area and especially the way you showed off the dime on your last photo. Good luck on your next hunt.

Equinox Cuff Padding To Reduce Slop
Valens Legacy replied to nickelNdimed's topic in Minelab Equinox Forum
Grandfather used this product from Amazon and trimmed it to fit his cuffs. It is waterproof and can be layered. I hope this helps. https://www.amazon.com/ESI-Premium-Height-Length-Rubber/dp/B00NCCX6C2/ref=sr_1_13?crid=1EO7SCYOQRXJ0&dchild=1&keywords=truck+topper+foam+tape&qid=1606020989&sprefix=truck+topper+foa%2Caps%2C193&sr=8-13 -

A Late Morning Lake Hunt!
Valens Legacy replied to Joe D.'s topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
Great hunt in a small area and a lot of targets to dig. Great hunting and good luck on your next outing. After looking at your pictures more closely I did see where you did get a 1/2 cent piece. That must have come up quite strange on your display. -

The Fruits Of My Imagination!
Valens Legacy replied to nebulanoodle's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
Very nice finds for sure. I have yet to find any nuggets, but know in time it will happen. Good luck on your next hunt! -
There is not a real lake there, but about 25 miles away there is Lake Whitney that has a couple of beaches. There are also a couple of state parks with lakes North of there. Good luck on your move.

The Fruits Of My Imagination!
Valens Legacy replied to nebulanoodle's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
Great story and nice gold. I have not yet been detecting for gold yet, but am learning my 800 to be able to go myself someday. Be patient and good things will happen when you least expect it to. I have found several ounces with my grandfather when we were sluicing along a couple of creeks, but never have used a detector. Good luck on your next hunt. -
What's Your View Of Detecting's Future??
Valens Legacy replied to Joe D.'s topic in Detector Prospector Forum
Since I am new at this hobby I have to admit that I should be the last one to suggest the direction it will go. With that said and the way the technology has progressed with newer and cheaper detectors on the market, I believe that this hobby is going to see a resurgence in less time than before. I can see where people have been watching me when I get out and practice at parks and beaches. They ask me questions and also ask to use my detector to give it a try. I still have not seen any topless girls ask to use it like Phrunt has, but what the heck I am still new at this. I can see in the near future where more people will be hitting the ground with detectors than there is right now, not only as a hobby, but as a way to make some extra change. Someday I wish that I will be good enough to use this detector to hit the gold fields and find some of that yellow stuff, just to say that I have done it. -
Fantastic hunt and good luck on returning the ring. Hope it brings a smile back to the person that lost it. Good luck on your move and on your next hunt.
