  1. Beautiful pictures with only one thing missing, someone with a detector! Get busy or else I am coming there.
  2. I really like the 800 because it very versatile for many types of hunting, their updates and warranty is a big plus also.
  3. Great finds and nice rings for sure. I hope and wish you luck for your next hunt.
  4. Welcome to the forum Michael and I am sure that there will be someone in your area to get with you. Don't get discouraged if you don't hear from someone very quickly, as some members only are on here a few days a week. In your area I would be hitting the beaches and parks for sure. Good luck and good hunting.
  5. James, Welcome to the forum and thank you for your service. Sounds like you have some good equipment and the 600 will serve you well. I have my grandfathers 800 and I am still learning it, I seem to do better with the factory settings and enjoy the hunt. Good luck as I know you are in a great area for metal detecting and I am looking forward to seeing some of your finds.
  6. Welcome to the forum GoldenHillbilly! You have come to the right place to learn the different techniques in this hobby. You are in a great location for the gold and some nice gems also. I have done some gold sluicing with my grandfather near Wilton Springs TN. if that is close to you. Beautiful country for sure and glad to see you here. Please post some of your finds here when you get them. What type of detector are you planning to pick up?
  7. Welcome aboard to the forum, and it will be interesting to see some of the finds from your area. Good luck and good hunting!
  8. Welcome to the forum and since I do not know the answer to your question I would suggest posting on the advice and comparison section for a quicker answer. Good luck.
  9. Tony, Several people here have given you the best information possible as I am also a newbie. When I am given information from someone here such as Chase I re-read and learn what he has stated. These people knows more about this equipment than most of the YouTubers out there as the are just making videos. They really never show all the trash, nor do they ever show areas that have nothing except trash. As a newbie I can tell you read, read, and re-read. Then take your time and learn what the detector is telling you so you know it like the back of your hand. I am still learning my unit and I know it will still take a couple of years to get as good as Chase, Phrunt, or any of the masters on any forum. Good luck on your next hunt.
  10. Great insight on all the brands and glad to see a point of view from someone that knows their business. Good hunting and good luck in this 2021 year.
  11. Great hunting for such a short time, keep up the work and good luck on your next hunt.
  12. That is a once in a lifetime find that you have uncovered from the past, what secrets it holds is anyone's guess. Keep up the hunt and get the rest of the set or at least another piece, they should be close to where you found that one. Good luck on your next hunt and Happy New Year.
  13. Great catch on the merc and I hope this is something to kick start the year for you. Good luck and good hunting.
  14. Erik, I know very little about where you live and want to hunt, but I have a good feeling that when you go looking for the gold, you will find it. Remember that all the gold that you find has your name on it. Good luck and happy hunting.
  15. Great start for the New Year Lunk, and I wish you more luck in the hunts yet to come.
  16. Welcome to the forum and I am sure that someone her will have an answer for you soon. One forum below the Meet an Greet forum would be the best place to ask this question as there are many people who go there to talk about subjects such as this. However I do think someone will be able to answer your question here. Good luck and Happy New Year.
  17. Fantastic hunt you have had for the last day in 2020, I can't wait to see what you come up with in 2021. Thanks for the picture of the sunset as it was beautiful. Good luck, good hunting, and God bless 2021 for you.
  18. You are so correct about that and it can also kill some fish in a tank. I have always stayed away from anything limestone in my tanks.
  19. Great finds and great hunting in such a year, I hope that 2021 will be much better for everyone. Thanks for the pictures.
  20. I have a kiddies plastic pool set on one side of the garage to catch any mess that I do. I set my pay dirt in one bucket and scoop a small amount into my pan and add some water. I then pan over a square bucket that I get from Walmart's deli dept. for free. The pool is only there to catch any mess that happens, which is hardly never as I have learned from my mistakes in the past. Good luck on panning and have a happy new year.
  21. Thanks for the story Steve, we should all be so lucky to find such a find. I just wonder if I need to start using binoculars while swinging my 800?
  22. Fantastic finds to end 2020 for sure. I think we all can see how your 2021 year is going to be and I for one will be waiting to see some nice gold pictures from you. Good luck and good hunting!
  23. Congrats on the hunt and adventure as I enjoyed the post and the pictures. Good luck on your next outing.
  24. Great find and great hunting to find it. Good luck on your next outing!
