  1. Anybody not getting excited when finding a piece like that either is dead or has been very lucky for some time... Scream all you want Gerry , nobody will call the volume police.🖖
  2. Welcome aboard Michael . You already know all of us , let us know more about you and your hunts and gear. Basically , just jump right in and have fun. We love pics ,,,,, (and maps with an X on 'em somewhere !)
  3. Thx for the post. Good timing pays off in beach land !!
  4. Not all battery meters are created equal. How many hours does it last ?
  5. Being as I was once a professional pirate . I likes me treasarrrrrrrrrr ! Whatever form it takes . Old pennies or gold or even just the view , Tis still treasarrrrrrr . I try to hunt in places I also like to be. So , I'll always want to go back. Now , if research leads me some place else,, I might find a new place I like to be. ! Lots of good responses so farrrrrrrr , Outta likes so like like like like like ...especially any post mentioning hunting virgins.🤔😍
  6. The guy in the article seems to fit in with so many these days only interested in #1... historic sites are typically protected in every country afaik. That said , The site was built before metal was much in use but that doesn't take into account who might have been there since and what might have been buried/lost since then. (as in the links posted) I'm hoping the guy had a cheapo detector though cuz the authorities probably kept it ! 😛
  7. I'm also trying to absorb all of this. Thx for posting folks ! I still consider myself a newb on the NOX. That old Radio Shack /Bounty Hunter didn't do too much to prepare me for a Nox upgrade... I switched to F2=0 most of the time soon after the update added it because of the discussions back then . Experimenting with raising the # in the user slot for comparisons. Of course I have also forgotten to change F2 after doing resets too ! My newb is finally wearing off a bit but always read these type of posts to cement/replace my "forgotten clues" previously learned. I didn't get nearly as much swing time this year as I was hoping,,,,the old life getting in the way thing again........... Still digging "mostly" everything and it ain't over yet. Was in the 70s last two days here uptah camp . 😎
  8. Welcome aboard Milano ! Your english is very good . Better than my french and I spoke only french until I was 3 ,,,, 65 years ago now ! My memere raised me.... I'm green with envy of your farm and all the history it holds. I'd guess that everyone on this forum would like a chance to detect there !! The laws on detecting in France seem quite restrictive , Good Luck hunting for your "lost watch and rings" 😉
  9. Loved the Morricone "Ecstasy of Gold" theme song they used. It should be our theme too... But WHAT ! NO Eastwood ? OK , if you hated the opera singer.....here's one from MY World !
  10. We need a half dollar club , they're getting scarce !
  11. Just throw a frozen turkey in , the croc will choke on it trying to swallow it whole ! Hey , it COULD work ! 😉 Option 2 first you'll need a HUGE HOOK on a steel leader and a big rotting fish for bait....🤔 I know that works on sharks. I WISH I could get a hook inna big crock like that ! Too bad your island isn't off MY coast , the fleet would go nuts trying for THAT big one. Course if it was here that croc would be a great white.😏
  12. And maybe the new owners would let you detect after the closing too ...
  13. Nice lookin' piece of rock .. Careful you don't drop it on your toe !!!
  14. Glad it actually works ! Will take less time to pay for itself......
  15. Greg Welcome aboard and interesting question. I used to use subwoofers called Servo Drive that employed speakers with no voice coils and a motor with a linkage to the speaker cone that moved it physically instead of with magnetic fields like most other speakers do . The same old amplifiers were used to drive them too. Outperformed the regular subs by a large margin.... They would be a bit cumbersome for your application but they show a real world application of what you are attempting. So , I think it could work . Pimento seems to be on the right track , keep trying you'll get there.
  16. Welcome to posting status Mick ! Glad to hear a report on no coil tabs broken. Keep up the good work and no jinx's allowed !!! Do another post in the Meet and Greet forum so everyone can welcome ya aboard . And if you have any questions or finds to brag about we're all ready and waiting...
  17. That looks like my watch,,,a Timex Expedition. The rust isn't on mine though...cuz it's plastic. I don't have a dime like that yet but there's one out there with my name on it..... (if anybody finds it let me know 😜)
  18. Interesting... Wow , that's a big hunk a plastic! Must be mil spec...skuh kuh kuh kuh As these things become more popular , maybe the mfg's will start responding with design changes ?
  19. Is this just for peace of mind insurance or have some of the Coilteks been breaking too ?🤞
