  6. The wife and I sometimes like to bring home some dirt from the foot hills and run it on through a recirculating sluice at our leisure...(after work on our front porch with a beer) if you get the picture. The one I built several years ago is getting tired and I was wondering how others set theirs up? is there a better sluice set up already made from the factory? I've been hearing about this gold cube sluice? any and all recommendations are appreciated. The pic below (copied off the internet) is kinda like how we had ours set up.. strick

  10. Nice detailed report...I'm starting to get the fever again strick
  11. Nice find I would be happy with it however it does not appear to be the real deal due to the discoloration I'm seeing. The iron ring is not very encouraging as well. I've found silver items well over 100 years old that are still marked 925 or they say "sterling" Of course I hope I'm wrong...and I am wrong most of the time...at least that what my wife tells me strick
  12. Nice hunt...thanks for posting your settings...there is a similar spot like that near where I live that I'd like to hunt some day Strick
  13. That little shovel would be a great tool for sorting through the fines in a gold pan...Nice work Gerry. strick
  14. Get a gold scratch tester for your jewelry finds. They should have designed the pro find 35 so you can find the on /off button easier without having to fumble around looking for it. Still prefer the carrot. strick
  15. I got you a bumper sticker for the Razor...it's the closest thing I could find....
  16. Thanks for this post I still have not hunted in the gold modes for gold nuggets and this is going to be a big help when I finally do. strick
  17. Gold and trash sound the same however sometimes gold sounds better then trash and sometimes trash sounds better then gold. This is just the way it is. strick
  18. Too many people around here to even think about using a shovel although I have one of those nice lesche T handled shovels I will only use it out in the field. Prefer the Lesche hand digger with the serrated edge on the left side. It stays hidden in my pouch till I need it. Been wanting one of those Model 31's for a while and just ordered one. strick
  19. Nice going there Lunk! Silver and Gold all in one hunt. The way I look at it is every park has gold it's just a matter of finding it. Just look for the bedrock strick
  20. Nice! looking at the first pic I thought to my self man that sure is a perfectly round nugget lol Congrats on the coin I'll take that any day over a nugget! strick
  21. Interesting thred...even though I understand virtually nothing you guys are saying I get the feeling that it feels good and I already know that my detector is fast and finds lots of stuff which is all I really need to know. Having been trained in a medical field all I can say is that those graphs...if they were an ECG would represent something that is about to die strick
  22. Or you could be a horse Vet...the horse kicks you and then the check bounces strick
  23. Yep I'll look them up first then if not worth anything they get cleaned...Cabin Fever has the best method for cleaning coins I've seen. His Indians are amazing looking. I wonder what kind of camera he is using to get those nice close ups? Inquiring minds want to know strick
  24. I think the Barbers are one of the prettiest designs minted. Nice work! I still have yet to find a Barber quarter. found lots of dimes and one half dollar barber that was in rough shape. strick
  25. My goal is to just get out and detect more this year. Last year ended up with lots of projects I wanted to get done...now there almost done. Another thing that I need to start doing is more intensive researching for relic spots. I've been meaning to try some water hunting in areas only accessible by boat. I got my boat ready last year but then never took it out. Another thing is to spend more time learning the Nox. happy hunting strick
