Fantastic hunting, wish I had some good beaches to hunt at. All I have here is 2 small beaches that don't allow detectors unless someone lost an item and tells the staff about it. I find more gold in our creeks around here than anything, but have also found some silver in them also. One of these days I hope to make it out your way and maybe have a meet up with some members to learn how to do the beaches. Good luck, good hunting, and stay safe.

Sometimes A Full Pouch Is Good Enough
Valens Legacy replied to CPT_GhostLight's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
Looks like a lot of digging on that hunt, but it also looks like you came up with a couple of pieces of gold in that mess. Good luck on your next hunt and stay safe. -
Welcome to the forum and glad to have you here. I am sure that everyone here will be looking forward to reading and seeing some of your hunts. You have quite a lot of history in your area to dig up with a lot of stories behind them. Good luck and stay safe out there.

Using a dry washer my grandfather would always have a bucket of water to classify small amounts of what he thought was a gem. The water helped in that aspect of the process if there was to much dirt on the gems. I am sure that there is someone else who would know more about that than me, I was still to young when I went with him looking for gems. Gold was what I really helped him with and learned about sluices and some dry washers. Good luck.

From reading a lot of your past posts on the gold there, I believe that you actually had a good day. I would have been worn out digging all the shot and probably have given up before finding the gold. Glad to see you back out there and finding the good stuff. Good luck on your next hunt.

That guy is making $250 an hour online for his class. I wonder if he is any good at it and if he has references from some of his classes. It could be a good thing if I could learn what I would need to learn from something like that. Thanks for the information.

Sierra Mountains Gold Crown
Valens Legacy replied to LukeJMG1986's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
Just ask yourself this question, Is my detector hunting partner missing any teeth since it has been a very bad week of detecting", if the answer is yes give them back and help them to the dentist office. -
What Is Your Backup Detector?
Valens Legacy replied to bigtim1973's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
This is easy for me as my main detector is the 800 as I enjoy using it when I want to find things in the ground. My backup is the Tracker IV and it still finds a lot of trash for me. Don't get me wrong about it as I love both detectors that my grandfather left me as they both have a place and purpose of their own. Do they find things of value, yes they do, I can count on either of them to find almost any coin at the parks or lakes. -
If Only It Were Real And A Silver Bracelet
Valens Legacy replied to Againstmywill's topic in Metal Detecting For Jewelry
Very nice hunt! Wish I could find a few things like that as I am to far behind on work to be able to get out. I have only been detecting close by and only for a few minutes at a time, so far I have picked up a couple of bucks in change. That was on the gravel parking lot about a half a inch down where the cars park to go to the soccer fields. Good luck on your next hunt. -
Very good hunt with some hard work to get it. I have seen some old rings that says 14kt GF that were not gold filled. Those were from the 60's and before, so it depends on how old it is. Don't write it off just yet as one that is not of good value. Good luck on your next outing.

What Does Your Pay Layer Look Like?
Valens Legacy replied to Gravelwasher's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
Another nice looking nugget, congrats on the find. -
I wonder when we will see the pictures from Phrunt when he finds it. I wonder how much he will be asking for as a finders fee. Thanks for sharing the story.

What Does Your Pay Layer Look Like?
Valens Legacy replied to Gravelwasher's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
I like to try the old creek beds that has water in it only a few times of the year. I find more gold in those than in the running creeks near them. It seems to have a clay and gravel mix in it, and you really have to look hard to find the gold that might be sticking to the mud. Gold is gold any where you find it, it is always fun to find in your pan or sluice. Good luck and good hunting. -
Garrett Axiom At Nome, Alaska
Valens Legacy replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Garrett Metal Detectors
A beautiful article with great scenery of the area and a nice amount of gold found. Great job Steve and glad that you were able to enjoy yourself while going home. Now that I said that I just have one question for you, why didn't you take me with you. Good luck on your next hunt. -
Nice looking nuggets, but the real question is are you actually making jelly or are you making wine. Either way it is tasty, but with the wine you don't have to fumble around looking for a slice of bread to put it on. Good luck on your next outing and stay safe when picking the berries, to many snakes in the shade.

Last 2 Alaska Nuggets Of 2022 Season
Valens Legacy replied to Dig It's topic in Minelab Equinox Forum
Nice work on the nuggets, glad you had fun on your hunt and hope you get more on your next hunt. -
Nice haul for all the hard work you had to do to find it. What detector were you using when you found all of the nice and shiny things. Also what did the heavy necklace ring up as. Good luck on your next outing.
